LINDSBORG, KAN., March 28, 2022 – This year’s annual Messiah Juried Student Art Exhibition will take place from April 4-18, with an awards reception on Palm Sunday, April 10 at 2 pm in Mingenback Art Center on the campus of Bethany College. This year will also feature a hallway exhibition by Osage artist Norman Akers from the University of Kansas. The gallery is open 9 am-5 pm on weekdays and on Palm Sunday and Easter weekends.
Visiting artist Tim Doyle is a Los Angeles-based sculptor whose work can be seen throughout Southern California. He will speak about his artwork at 1 pm on Thursday, April 7 in Mingenback and lead a workshop for high school art teachers on Friday, April 8 from 1-4 pm.
The Juried Student Art Exhibition is part of the Messiah Festival of the Arts, the celebration of sacred music, theatre, and art at Bethany College. Every year since 1882, the Bethany Oratorio Society has presented Messiah at the college. The society has performed Messiah across the plains, in Carnegie Hall, and on national television.
