LINDSBORG, KAN., MAY. 2, 2022—On April 20th, the Real Men Sing vocal workshop at Bethany College brought 180 young men, grades 5-12, from 18 schools across Kansas. These students spent the day working with music professionals in one of three different groups (Unchanged Voice Choir, Changing Voice Choir, and High School Choir) that concluded with a performance of “God Bless America,” in Presser Hall.
Dr. Mark Lucas, Associate Professor of Music, organized the annual event alongside Mr. Greg Bontrager of Buhler High School, Mr. Nicholas Griggs, of McPherson High School, and Mr. Alex Underwood of Hays High School. Lucas, Griggs, and Underwood conducted under the accompaniment of Luke Koeperich, Student Solo Accompanist, Dr. Daniel Masterson, Professor of Music, and Dr. Hentus van Rooyen, Assistant Professor of Sacred Music.
